introduction and closing for informative speech? help?

ok, so I’m writing a paper for speech, I have the speech done, except the introduction, and closing. I’m doing my speech on the band “panic at the disco” and i can’t figure out what to write for an introduction (that includes a thesis statement) and a closing! I don’t want to use rhetorical questions in my intro, but if i have to, i will. can someone please give me any ideas or hints on how to write a good intro,and closing??

As for the conclusion, just restate the reasons why Panic! At The Disco is a great band. Also, make sure to restate your points. Maybe something like “Panic! At The Disco is a fantastic band, they have 2 great albums released – A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out & Pretty. Odd. They are a creative band and you will not hear another band that sounds exactly like them. I hope you all get the chance to give this band a listen and maybe you will learn to like them as much as I do.”

Break the Rules in Formal Speech

Imagine using a clear structure of rules and procedures in your everyday interactions. Imagine you have to speak by predefined set of laws, use specific sentence structure or even be limited to predefined answers to common questions. That would be a hell! You will concentrate mostly on the given alternatives of the answers, the rules and the limitations you have in your speech; not even considering the tone of the question, the intent of the comment or the goal of the person you speak with.

That is similar to a situations when you have to speak on a language that you are not very familiar with and you try to use the words you know, just to finish the started sentence and answer back.

If you are one of those companies which work “by the strict rules”, this is how your online operators probably feel! They are limited in their speech and almost certainly not motivated and trained enough to get out of those frames (without breaking the rules).
