Beginning of the End
We sometimes think that there is not enough space in the body and soul to the Lord we behave as we ask. While Teresa was full of soul love of Jesus, his body was falling apart. The constant coughing, which has always had her sisters and his Aunt Mary in tuberculosis.
The first signs occurred Thursday night on the holy 1896. During that night she felt a strange sensation. She coughed a hot liquid. She did not want to see what it was until the next morning because the lights were in Caramel, and she does not want a newline. When it was clear enough to see, she found blood on his handkerchief. She was delighted to have the gift of sharing the suffering of Jesus.
But its small way, she had so long practiced, forbids him to tell everyone about his problem. She was as beautiful and happy as ever, if suffered physically. Nobody had any idea what was happening in it. She wrote poems and plays in this period. If the cough is worse, she tried cover. A time came, however, when she could no longer hide his illness. It was in his cell and put in the hospital.
Therese was subjected to sarcastic comments from some nuns in Caramel. Mother Marie de Gonzague, head of mood swings, which fell from bad to worse from indifference to anger, seized every opportunity to cut Therese. Other sisters have made statements like "I do not know why we hear so much of Sister Therese of the Child Jesus, unexceptional. We see no virtue in practice. You can even not mean they have a good nun. "
In this light, fever, difficulty breathing, insomnia, constipation, gangrene of the intestine, it has maintained its position well-being and happiness, no one thought she was sick. Even her doctors were confused by its appearance.
Theresa has always suffered attacks spirituality. She was spiritually dry almost every time she went retired. But in the last years of his life, the attacks of Satan were violent. She found herself doubting everything she had ever done or believes in. Her mind filled with anxiety have lived and died for nothing for nothing. She had wasted her life on delusions. His sleepless nights were filled with a presumption that she had embraced.
It was his little way to the right way for it? Should they occur, is a priest, an apostle, a doctor of the Church? She always had missions in the eyes of Indochina (Vietnam). The Caramel of Lisieux had a mission in Saigon and Hanoi, which is what the Lord had called him? Had they ignored what he really wanted her in for this cool?
They wanted a priest, women were not priests, but they felt such a desire to bring Jesus this way. It was a question that haunted! She sought the Lord to respond through the Scriptures. She finally found his answer in the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians, Chapter 12.
"You, then the body of Christ. Each of you is a member of the … are all apostles? All prophets? All teachers? What all work miracles or the gift of healing? All speak in tongues, all have the gift of interpretation of tongues? Set your hearts on the greater gifts. "
and also Chapter 13,
"If I speak in human language and angelic as well, but have not love, I am a noisy gong, a clanging cymbal.
I love the gift of prophecy, and with full knowledge, understanding all mysteries, if I believe in move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all the poor and I hand-feed my body to be burned, but not love, I gain nothing. "
Theresa was right. Little is gaining ground. It was peace at last.
